1. Describe what your life (and your health) was like before fitness.
My life before fitness & health was a struggle with many challenges. I struggle with having self-confidence, depression and anxiety. When I was younger I could eat whatever I wanted and it would be ok. I started to gain weight in my late 20s and then got pregnant when I turned 28/29.
2. Was their ever a low point or an experience that made your priorities change?
The low/lows in my life that made me want to change was first my inability to be happy. Second, was getting on the scale and seeing 204. Becoming a mother and having 2 boys made me want to be the best person, mother and wife I could be and that meant becoming healthier so I could enjoy life with them and show them the fun physical activities that I love like snowboarding, wake boarding and backpacking.
3. How did fitness come into your life (or back into your life)?
Fitness came back into my life because I know now that I need it for my mental health. Of course loosing weight and becoming stronger is something I want as well. I want to be able to keep up with my kids. Focusing on fitness & health has led to more positive outcomes in the rest of my life.
4. What kind of results have you seen since starting at Fit Culture Studio?
The results I have seen since joining Fit Culture Studio are a 47 pound weight loss to date. I feel more flexible, lighter on my feet and I am starting to see muscle definition. Most importantly, I am happier, feeling more confident and I have more tools & support to calm my nerves.
5. Can you please talk more about the actual changes in your life?
The positive changes in my life are I am much happier physically & emotionally. I am more confident, outgoing and have way more energy. I feel I have more knowledge about health and fitness and that I have the capacity to achieve any goal I set.
6. What are the reactions of your family and friends?
The reactions from my family and friends have been great. They are all amazed and inspired by my results. Many have been asking what my tricks are.
7. How are you different today compared to a few years ago?
Today, I am happier, healthier, stronger, more confident. Today, I am no longer pregnant! Today, I am more motivated then ever. I am no longer consumed with self-doubt & self-hatred. Today, I know that I am an awesome person.
8. What is your advice to others?
My advice to others is to just keep doing it. Don’t stop, don’t give up, don’t let set backs cause you to stop. Ignore the haters/naysayers. Focus, focus, focus. Meal plan, shop, PREP!!!! Shakeology, 21 day fix, small group strength training with Steven & being a part the the Fit Culture Studio community has worked wonders for me.
9. Specifics: How old are you? What’s your job? Do you have a family locally? Any plans for the winter?
I am 35 yours old (36 March 10th). Currently, I am a stay home mom. I just became a beachbody coach. My husband & I have started a solar company. My husband and I and our two sons live in Nevada City. The rest of our family is spread out in the Bay Area, So-Cal, Texas and Colorado. All I want to do this winter is to go snowboarding!
10. And lastly, please include anything else I may have missed that you want to mention or talk about.
I have not been on anti-depressants for years now. I have been diagnosed at least 3 times with minor to severe depression. Since I joined Fit Culture, I have been back and forth with the idea if I need it again. I have really been trying to fight it naturally. I think I have won the battle as long as I keep up with my fitness and health goals.
